Cooper's Room...

Well, I am finally just about finished with Cooper's room. I have one more thing to put on a small wall in there, that I am waiting to arrive from Cooperstown, New York...Baseball Hall of Fame. Then it will be done!

i am really pleased with the way it all turned out. It's so funny how you are with your second child, when pregnant with Tatum, I had all the ideas in my mind the day after I knew she was a girl. This time took me a tad bit longer to get it all together. Obviously, since he is born next week!!!

I decided to keep Tatum's art easel in his room so that she has something to do while I am in there with him nursing or changing. I am sure she will be attached to my hip for the first few weeks!!

Using the same bedding as Tatum did worked out well. I just changed the sheets and used the baseball pillow ( the one in the rocking chair), it is amazing how different bedding can look when you have girly colors to put with it!! I bought the bedding and baseball pillows before I knew Tatum was going to be a girl. I compromised with the bedding and made her room very girly with unisex bedding. This time, I was able to make it all boy, and use the great pillows. They were the inspiration for the "baseball" themed room!I love the mirror above the changing table. I saw a circle mirror at Ikea and thought about painting baseball stitches on it! It turned out perfect!! One of my favorite things in the room!! I must be nesting, because I got everything done in his room today. I even did some "baby" laundry so that he has some things to wear when he gets home!! So, now.....all that is missing is....Cooper!!!

Golf With Daddy....

Friday night, Nicole and I went to dinner with some girlfriends that we grew up with. It was a lot of fun. We try to do this at least once every few months if we can!! Well this time, Richard and Jake, Nicole's hubby, decided to take the kids to play 9 holes of golf. Tatum has been a couple of time with Richard, and Gavin has been to the driving range and putt putt with Jake, so they were confident they would be just fine! Well, they were right. They all had a great time. Tatum loved it. She is ready to go back!

It helps that the weather was beautiful that evening. They played the back 9, at "twilight". Which makes it 1\2 price, and short enough for the kids to behave the whole time!

Here, Tatum was helping Daddy decide which way the green sloped! She is so silly!! Wouldn't it be funny if all the professional golfers got all the way down on the ground like this to check!?!!

Too cute!!

Here she is practicing her putting. Richard said she did really good. I knew once he told me how well she was doing and how good she behaved out on the course, he was going to tell me that he wanted to get her some real clubs of her own, and start taking her out there with him. Of course, I was right! He told me when I got home that night that he was going to go out the next day and get her some clubs. We ended up going to Play It Again Sports, because I thought she really didn't need a brand new set, not really knowing if she is going to play much. So, we checked out some small youth bags and a couple of clubs that she could use. Then we saw a brand new set, pink and black bag, with 6 different clubs, for a pretty good price. The bag is the cutest part. It has backpack straps on it, to help the kids carry the heavy bag. It is the CUTEST thing I have ever seen, watching her walk around the store with this big golf bag attached to her back! We decided that we were going to get her the new set, but we are saving it for her, to give to her at the hospital as a "Welcome to Becoming a New Big Sister" gift. I think this will be a great gift for her for this occasion. This way, when Mommy and Baby need quiet time, Daddy and Tatum can head out to the golf course!! She has talked about golf several times since we were at the store checking them all out. We drove past the driving range today and saw several little kids out there in lessons. She saw them and said that she can do that!! I know that she will be excited about the clubs. And, like I have always been told...any GIRL who plays golf in High School, is almost guaranteed a College Golf Scholarship! That's where we are headed now!!! LOL!

My Work Here Is Done...

Look at these sweet little babies!! Cole, Tatum, and Ty. I have been watching Cole and Ty since they were 15 months old. Tatum was only 2. I started watching the boys in 2005, when Jennifer, their mom, decided to go back to teaching. Richard and Shaun, the boys dad, went to the Police Academy together, and that is how we met this great family. They have allowed me to be able to be a stay-at-home-mom! I have watched them for 3-4 days a week up until now. Today was my last day, since I am about to POP. They will be heading off to Kindergarten next year and will no longer need a nanny! It has been so fun watching these boys grow up into sweet little men. When I tell people that I watch twin 5 year old boys 3 days a week, everyone tends to cringe. I can honestly say that these boys are really well behaved! It has been fun! This year was a little different because Tatum started Kindergarten, so we did a lot of driving to and from to take her and pick her up from school. The boys enjoyed coming over in the mornings and getting to take Tatum to school with me!

The boys and Jennifer brought me these beautiful flowers this morning when they came over. It was really sweet. The card was cute, signed and notes from the boys. I will always remember practicing writing letters with them all year!! I had to get one last picture of the 3 today when they were over this afternoon. My, how they have all grown!!!

My Baby Shower for Cooper...

My Baby Shower was so nice. Stephanie threw me the shower and did a great job. She made everything look so nice, and put a lot of thought into everything. Tatum was so excited to get to be there and be involved. She helped me open every single present. She doesn't care if it's for her or not, she just likes to open!! She did get some very special things as well. I made her a Big Sister t-shirt, just a plain shirt with rhinestone letters to spell out "Big Sister." It turned out really cute. She will get to wear it at the hospital on the big day!!

My grandma and Aunt got to come up for the shower from Round Rock. I was so glad they made the trip. I had so many great people attend, and got so many great things, much needed for our little guys arrival! It's funny how much you forget about needing after 5 1\2 years.

So, we are now anticipating the BIG day. I go in to be induced on May 5th, 7:30am. I am hoping that I will go into labor before that! I think I would like to experience a little big of Child Birth and Labor. Not too much.... I WILL still be having an epidural!! So, I am sure the next post will be of our new addition!! Stay tuned!!!

Easter 2009....

Well, Easter 2009 was an interesting one!! After staying up until 2am baking yummy treats for Easter Sunday, Tatum woke up at 3am with major breathing troubles. We had to rush her to the hospital, they controlled her breathing, but then wanted to transfer her to Children's Medical Center of Dallas for observation. After spending the entire day at Children's, she was finally released at 8pm to go home. The outcome...Tatum has Asthma. She is now on asthma medication daily, and a new allergy medication to hopefully control the "triggers" of asthma. But, that was after our fun day, Saturday, at Kids Fest in Downtown Plano. We went with Ben and Emma to see what fun things we could do Saturday afternoon. Tatum got to paint some pottery, eat her favorite, a CORNDOG, and do a fun sand art bottle project. It was fun, the weather was great, and the company was better!! This Easter was not what we expected, but it turned out okay. Tatum was bummed she wasn't going to be able to hunt for Easter eggs, but the hospital was putting on an Easter event for the kids and she was able to hunt for eggs, dye eggs, and make a cute flower and flower pot project! She was happy, got Easter surprises at the hospital, and was still able to come home and find her Easter basket that the Easter Bunny left for her at home!! Let's hope next Easter is not quite so eventful!!!

The Beginning of Easter Festivities...

Easter is almost here and we started the festivities out by going to Gavin's Easter Party on Monday evening. It was a lot of fun. The kids got to hunt for eggs and the adults got to visit. Tatum enjoyed it! We will be looking for something exciting to do on Sunday since our picnic and park visit is out the window....80-100% chance of rain on Easter Sunday! Needless to say, I am NOT happy! WHY do we only get a beautiful Easter about once every 3 years. It's either cold, or raining, or both! This year, nice temp, but raining!! UGH! Doesn't Mother Nature know this is SPRING, and we like to be outside on Easter Sunday? It's no fun to hunt eggs inside!!! So, we will be on the hunt for ideas on what to do this Sunday. Bowling was an option! Even though I can't do that anymore right now...don't want a baby to fall out on the lane! I can watch all the others, save them from getting beat too badly by my professional bowling skills!!! We shall see! Happy Easter everyone!!!
